Our Difference

We opened our doors in 2011 to offer our “hometown approach” to hospice care – to truly provide the highest level of care and comfort to individuals and their families.

We saw a deep need for patient-centered care, and witnessed an unfortunate void of responsiveness to the needs of people during their most difficult time. With that, leaders of Shirkey Health Services determined we can do better. We can do more.

By being a nonprofit, Shirkey Hospice does whatever it takes to bring comfort to patients and their loved ones. Each life is unique; so is the care we deliver.

Since then, Shirkey Hospice has helped hundreds of individuals live as fully as possible, and supported loved ones through their course of grief and recovery.

We Honor Veterans

Shirkey Hospice honors the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. Veterans can face traumatic experiences from deployments and military engagements, which increases the risk of anxiety, depression and other psychiatric issues, known as post-traumatic stress disorder.

To better understand and serve veterans and families in our care, Shirkey Hospice has partnered with We Honor Veterans program. Shirkey team members are trained to meet veterans’ unique needs, guiding them to a more peaceful place.

Additionally, we recognize veterans’ service and contributions by memorializing their stories for the individual and their families.
